In our context, a blog or weblog comprises a lead article and a series of comments about or arising from that article.

We do want to encourage free and spontaneous expression of views but also want to maintain reasonable publishing standards. We therefore moderated the discussion and reserve the right to reject or remove comments that fall outside of the standards that we expect. We will not normally edit a comment other than to correct obvious typographical errors.

We encourage our registered readers to show their approval or disapproval of individual comments by use of the ranking button. We also provide the facility for registered readers to flag comments as potentially abusive or falling outside the agreed publishing standards.
